His current recent research focuses on PV for mobility.

Martin Heinrich received his degree in Physics at the Technical University of Berlin in 2009. As a research fellow at the Duke University (USA) from 2008-2010, he worked on nonlinear dynamics of circuit networks. In 2010, he started his Ph.D. at the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a NUS Graduate School scholarship for Integrative Science and Engineering. During his Ph.D. studies, he worked on laser chemical processing of crystalline silicon solar cells at the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) and from 2013 to 2014 at the Fraunhofer ISE. After completing his Ph.D. in 2015, he joined the University of Freiburg as a group leader focusing on solar cell engineering. Since 2017, Martin Heinrich is the Head of the team "Module Efficiency and New Concepts" at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE.
