Assistant Professor at the University of Lisbon

Killian Lobato did his Physics degree in 2003 from the University of Bath, UK. Then, he undertook a PhD in the Chemistry department of the same institution to study the exciting Grätzel dye-solar cell. Followig that, he accepted a post-doctoral position at the University of Lisbon to work on silicon growth techniques of solar cells. As of December 2013, he is an Assistant Professor (tenured 2018) in the area of Energy Engineering and he gives courses on Solar PV and Solar resource, Electrochemical Energy Storage and Conversion, and Renewable Energy Systems. As a physicist at heart his interests are varied with running interests in: Tunnel junctions for silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells; Polmer electrodes for Li and Na batteries; Carbon based supercapacitors; Laser annealing for CIGS solar cells; Metal oxides for perovskite solar cells; Operation and Maintenance of Photovoltaic systems; Solar resource modelling in complex urban environments.
