His research areas are wide band gap semiconductors with a focus on diamond and graphene.

Prof. Dr. Cristoph Nebel studied Electrotechnics and Physics in Stuttgart and München. HE received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart in 1989. He was the team leader at the Walter Schottky Institute, Technical University Munich, and in the Diamond Research Center of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan. Then he worked in Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics (IAF) as the Head of the Micro- and Nano-Sensor Department and later as the Head of the business unit Diamond Applications. In 2016, he founded Diamond and Carbon Applications (DiaCarA) Consultancy, where he is the CEO. Since 2018, he is a research professor at the Nano materials Research Institute at Kanazawa University in Japan.
